Belt examinations took place at Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido Limburgerhof e.V. on Wednesday, 4 June 2025. The examination focussed on the practical elements of the earth (chi) aspect, which are essential for advanced martial arts. The participants had to demonstrate various basic stances and falling exercises, which serve as fundamental techniques for self-defence. In addition, both defence and attack techniques were tested in order to test the versatility and dexterity of the candidates. Special attention was paid to the weapon techniques, in which short sticks and the wooden sword were presented. The candidates not only demonstrated their skills, but also their understanding of the principles of Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido. The first kata from the sword style of Miyamoto Musashi was also performed. Due to a scheduling conflict, assistant coach Julia Arz was allowed to take her 6th kyu (green) exam on 3 June 2025 at the dojo in Mutterstadt . Nitanbo (two short sticks) and the first three forms of Musashi kata were also tested here. These demanding movement sequences required maximum concentration and precision and were mastered by Julia with flying colours. After the presentation of the new belts (grades) and certificates by Saiko-Shihan (chief instructor) Christian Wiederanders, a detailed discussion of the examination results took place. The next steps and curricula for the coming weeks were also discussed in order to further deepen the knowledge learnt and expand the skills. The entire Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido community would like to congratulate Julia Arz (6th Kyu), Rick Rauch, Rolf Polke, Angela Walter and Tyler Roos (7th Kyu) on their success and look forward to further training together.
