On Sunday, March 30, two self-defense courses took place at the same time: In the Carl-Bosch-Turnhalle, Timo Gartner and Thorsten Klein taught a new group of interested women self-defense. This basic course was fully booked in advance. The participants experienced numerous “aha moments” when they were sensitized to various scenarios. The trainers managed to combine informative and practical elements by simulating real threatening situations. The focus was on providing the participants with techniques to effectively defend themselves against attackers. At the same time, an advanced course was offered in the gymnastics hall under the direction of Michael Sommavilla. The already experienced participants deepened their knowledge and repeated learned skills. Through practical exercises, not only self-confidence but also strategies for de-escalation and defense were trained. The atmosphere was consistently positive and motivating, so that all participants took part seriously and with joy. Mayor Andreas Poignee also stopped by and exchanged ideas with the participants on the topic of security in Limburgerhof. This encounter symbolized the community’s efforts to strengthen the security of its citizens and to promote awareness of self-protection among the population. The fact that the topic of security and self-protection is in high demand today is reflected in the demand for self-protection courses, which have been offered regularly for years. Despite the seriousness of the topic, there was no lack of fun and there were always breaks to regenerate and exchange ideas, which significantly boosted team dynamics and community spirit. The self-protection courses thus remain a valued format in Limburgerhof, combining both education and the joy of learning. There are only a few places left for the Self-Protection Scenario Day on June 14 in Rödersheim-Gronau. This day is not only suitable for women, but also for men.
