On Saturday, 15 March 2025, the German delegation of Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido was invited to a special honour at the National Museum in the capital Colombo. In the auditorium of the museum, a high national honour of Sri Lanka took place for people who have made significant contributions to the citizens. The National Honours Ceremony Certificates from the Sri Lanka Royal Fundation and London University is awarded for outstanding service and noble conduct. Renil Fernando was honoured for establishing and propagating Muay Thai in Sri Lanka since 1987 and as the founder of the Kick Boxing Federation in Sri Lanka. His wife Nilangika Fernando was honoured for her commitment to yoga. Kaushalya Nirmana, son of Renil Fernando, was honoured for his work as founder and director of Lions Studios (Danger Zone), as well as his achievements as a singer, actor, martial artist, stuntman and director of stunt scenes in Sri Lankan films. These prestigious awards from the Sri Lanka Royal Fundation are meant for locals, but on this day a special honour should be given to non-living Sri Lankans. Saiko-Shihan Christian Wiederanders was honoured with the Royal Award for his cooperation with Renil Fernando since 2006 and the opportunity to offer and teach his Japanese samurai martial art Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido to the people of Sri Lanka free of charge. Christian Wiederanders also carried out fundraising campaigns for hospitals, orphanages and turtle farms, which was recognised with this award. Fabian Birkle, who travelled to Sri Lanka for the second time and conducted numerous exchange trainings online from Germany to Sri Lanka, also received an award for his commitment.
