Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido is more than just a martial art; it is a holistic movement concept based on the historical teachings of the Japanese samurai. This concept combines centuries-old traditions with modern psychomotor approaches to promote individual body awareness through a wide range of movement experiences. Our philosophy: We believe that movement is closely linked to psychological processes. Particularly in children, learning is promoted by their own actions. Our experience from over three decades in the development of numerous movement programmes makes our concept unique. Symbolism and meaning: Our logo conveys the essence of our programme: the dragon stands for movement and flexibility, embodying the unity of body, mind and soul. It symbolises developmental movement processes for people of all ages. The character Bushido (The Way of the Warrior) represents the development of positive social skills and exemplary personalities, inspired by the virtues of the Samurai. These virtues include:
- Gi – Sincerity
- Yu – Courage
- Jin – Humanity
- Rei – Politeness
- Makoto/Shin – Truth
- Meiyo – Honour
- Chungi/Chu – Loyalty
The cherry blossom symbolises beauty and the pursuit of perfection, without pressure. It stands for the idea that every student can shine in the prime of their life, regardless of age and physical condition. The five Japanese characters earth, water, fire, wind and emptiness illustrate adaptability and individual development in harmony with nature. We warmly invite you to become part of our community!
