Members of the Tatus-Ryu-Bushido Association began the ‘New Year’ (according to a different calendar) with a very special journey through two cultures. In Sri Lanka, they were able to experience the local New Year celebrations – a joyful, lively festival full of music, games, joie de vivre and delicious food. The warm welcome and the openness of the hosts made this day a heart-warming, nature-filled experience that will long remain in the memory. Shortly afterwards, the journey continued to the Indian New Year festival “Navarsha Utsav”. Here too, the guests from Germany were welcomed with open arms. Colourful dances, traditional music and the aromas of Indian cuisine told stories of spring, new beginnings and a deep connection with nature. For our association, these encounters were far more than just cultural events. They were moments of genuine closeness, in which conversations built bridges and a sense of friendship emerged. In both cultures, the New Year festival symbolises hope, a fresh start and a harmonious awakening – and it was precisely this atmosphere that we were able to experience. We are grateful to have been part of these special celebrations and to have taken away with us the friendship lived out between the cultures.
