Ja-Ela, Sri Lanka, July 4, 2026 – Following extensive renovations, MMA Fightland’s permanent dojo in Ja-Ela was officially reopened. The modernized training facility serves as an MMA hub for Shenal Fernando and his successful martial arts program, which has developed into a key destination for martial arts enthusiasts in the region over the past few years. It’s a great addition to the main facility in Ragama, located right on the main road.

As part of the modernization, the existing training facilities were significantly expanded. In addition to the two smaller mat areas already in place, support from Germany made it possible to purchase an additional 36 high-quality training mats. This means athletes now have significantly more space available for training, workshops, and courses. This investment is a response to the steadily growing demand for the martial arts offered. In particular, Muay Thai kickboxing and Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido are enjoying great popularity. Thanks to the expanded training areas, the program can be further expanded starting this month, allowing for additional training times and new courses. A special highlight of the reopening is a large promotional banner on the exterior of the dojo. It clearly displays the full range of programs offered by MMA Fightland and makes the training facility visible even from a distance. The banner is intended to help draw the attention of even more interested individuals to the diverse opportunities available for children, teenagers, and adults. With the reopening, Shenal Fernando is sending a clear signal regarding the continued development of martial arts in Sri Lanka. The modernized dojo in Ja-Ela offers optimal conditions for training, personal development, and athletic success, while also strengthening the bond between partners and supporters in Sri Lanka and Germany.
