Out and about in Sri Lanka with Fabian Birkle: As you had to arrive the day before, the last Tuesday, 11 March 2025, was not included in the planning. Now the fishing village of Negombo was to be visited. On the way there, the many fishing boats could already be admired during the journey. In Negombo, the restaurant where Christian ate prawns last December, which he raved about, was immediately headed for. The waitress recognised Christian and was happy to see him again. Christian also had the preparation of the prawns shown to him. Two large portions of prawns were immediately ordered. Christian hadn’t exaggerated, the prawns were delicious! After that, they visited the beach and checked out the nearby hotels for future trips. On the way back, shortly before arriving at the hotel, they noticed some strange figures and a huge pirate head, which they had already noticed on the way there. They wanted to take a closer look at dinner. Within walking distance of a few hundred metres, the place in question turned out to be the restaurant and hotel ‘Dark Sea Beach Club Uswetakeiyawa’. A hidden restaurant with a great pirate backdrop, spread over three floors, right on the beach with a great view of the capital Colombo. They didn’t miss out on it and the grill plate was ordered, along with a plate of fried prawns. The shrimp tasted especially good in the great Caribbean atmosphere with a ship’s backdrop! The Dark Sea is hereby earmarked for further visits.
