On January 16, 2026, Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido Neuhofen celebrated the welcoming of its two newest members to the training group. Traditionally, in Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido, new members take an induction exam shortly after joining the club. This is not intended to be a hurdle, but rather to give the instructors the opportunity to get to know the new students and assess their skill level to tailor the training to each individual. Since this year, TRB has introduced an additional belt system, which allows seniors and people with disabilities to participate without an exam. Regardless of whether there is an exam or not, the most important aspect of the club tradition is the induction ceremony. Here, the students are ceremoniously presented with their belts. The instructor also pours a cup of tea or sake for each student, and vice versa, to symbolize mutual learning. We congratulate Ayse and Ilka on receiving their belts and certificates for the 8th Kyu (white-grey). Additionally, we would like to congratulate Ferielle, who is moving to the new belt system and has received her new belt, including a mark for her three years of membership.
“I train at the Tatsu Ryu Bushido club and I’m really enthusiastic about it. The training is a lot of fun and is taught with great passion and respect. I particularly like the fact that there are classes specifically for older people and for those who are no longer quite as physically fit. Everyone is met at their own level and can train at their own pace. The trainers are patient, competent and create a very pleasant atmosphere. You feel welcome and taken seriously. A club that I can absolutely recommend!” (January 2026)
