On Friday, 14 December 2025, and Wednesday, 17 December 2025, the last training sessions of the year took place in Limburgerhof. All the children in the various training groups were treated to a Christmas gift bag at the end. Their eyes lit up when they saw the Christmas card with the TRB dragon that accompanies the children, along with a Christmas samurai story and other little surprises from the bag. The kids’ coaching team would like to thank all the children for a successful and exciting year. Many of them have shown impressive courage and perseverance. This year, we were able to reorganise our steadily growing children’s training group by recruiting new instructors and assistant trainers. This means that every age group now gets its money’s worth. In particular, the integration of older children aged 10 and above, as well as children with at least 7th kyu (white-green), into adult training has proven to be consistently positive. Philian Braun showed particular courage, not allowing himself to be deterred by defeats. To crown the last training session, Sensei Thorsten Klein awarded him the 9th kyu, the white-yellow belt, after he was invited to a re-examination and was able to demonstrate his skills. The adults also got their money’s worth in the last training session. Sensei Thorsten demonstrated techniques for freeing oneself from holds and methods for escaping from tricky situations — an important aspect of self-defence that should not be overlooked. Saiko Shihan Christian Wiederanders was personally present at the last training session of the year, adding a special touch. We can look back on a successful year of training and examinations and look forward to getting back into full swing at the New Year’s course on 11 January 2026.
