With four participants from the Limburgerhof and Mutterstadt dojos, Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido was represented at the 35th martial arts workshop on 29 November 2025 in Bürstadt. We spent a total of eight hours on the mat and not only had a lot of fun, but also learned a great deal! In four learning units, the instructors demonstrated the diversity of the martial arts world: Luca Demeco (Black Belt BJJ, Capoeira Mestre) taught ground fighting from Luta Livre, a Brazilian martial art. Graziella Puritscher (2nd Dan Jiu-Jitsu, 1st Dan Ninjutsu, 1st Dan Judo) demonstrated various throws and defence combinations from Jiu-Jitsu, the versatile Japanese martial art. Alexander Knopf and Christian Nau (both: Grand Master Necopa Balintawak Arnis) gave an introduction to the Filipino system Balintawak Arnis, in which short sticks are used for fighting. And finally, Klaus Schmidt (5th Dan Jiu-Jitsu, 4th Dan Ju-Jutsu, 3rd Dan / Lakan Tatlo Modern Arnis), who was also instrumental in organising this event, gave an exciting lesson on flowing punch and kick combinations, with influences from various systems. We met many great athletes, took away many impressions and made new contacts – a very successful training day for us.
