On Wednesday, 26 November 2025, there was another opportunity to take part in a Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido belt examination in Limburgerhof (Rhineland-Palatinate). Both children and adults who had collected enough career points and trained regularly were allowed to take the exam. Sensei Thorsten Klein and Sensei-ho Fabian Birkle were on site as examiners, supported by Saiko-Shihan Christian Wiederanders, the children’s trainers Julia Arz and Christian Grünert, and Senpai Martin Paetz. It should be mentioned once again that passing the belt examination is not a matter of course. The candidates’ performances are studied in detail and then discussed; only those who have demonstrated the necessary skills for the next level of training receive the certificate and are recognised with the new grade. As a special feature for the adults this time, there was an exam task that had to be completed by all Seito who took the exam: putting on their training clothes in the dark, under conditions similar to those in a tent – simulating a night-time alarm in camp (based on the samurai tent camps of previous years). We would like to congratulate the children: Margret Schäfer, Raphael and Lukas Kaleta for 9th kyu (white-yellow) and Raphael Walter, Ellen Arz, Erik Frey and Joel Reimer for 8th kyu (white-orange). We would also like to congratulate the adults: Benedikt Walter and Christian Grünert for 7th kyu (white), Tyler Roos and Angela Walter for 6th kyu (green), Lance Kaleta, Julia Arz and Rolf Polke on achieving 5th kyu (green). And in addition, Pascal Pletsch from the Mutterstadt dojo on passing his entrance exam, 8th kyu (white). On 11 January 2026, exams for 4th kyu (blue) and 2nd kyu (brown) will take place.
