Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido took part in SWR’s ‘Night Against Loneliness’ campaign, which was part of the ‘Exit Loneliness’ project. On 22 November 2025, we offered a special open training session in the Carl Bosch Gymnasium, where we practised kata from ‘Seiho-itto-no-tachi’. This set contains twelve partner exercises that are performed with the bokken (wooden sword). The trainees learn distances and practise techniques with the sword while moving in a form that is fixed for both sides. This prevents injuries and, with sufficient practice, the kata can still be performed with real tension and hardness, which shows whether the technique has been successfully learned. There is a lot to practise, because even an experienced Bushidoka will always find new details to work on. Seven participants took up the challenge and learned and practised the first six forms together in 90 minutes. Click here for a trial membership >>>
