Immediately following the NIMI closing ceremony on 5 October 2025 in the Carl Bosch Gymnasium in Limburgerhof, there was a free trial lesson in the samurai martial art Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido. Many of the parents and family members who had been watching the children showed interest and got involved themselves. Senpai Martin first gave a brief introduction to the use of the Japanese sword, practising with wooden swords, of course, to prevent injuries. This was followed by a short lesson in unarmed techniques and an insight into the training methods. Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido offers a wide range of training courses in the region and also provides children and seniors with a pleasant introduction to Japanese martial arts. According to the teachings of the famous Japanese swordsman Miyamoto Musashi, self-confidence is strengthened, health is promoted and character is trained according to the philosophy of life and tradition of the samurai. We offer personal development of body and mind, regardless of gender, age and physical condition, without competition. All in all, it was a very well-attended taster Sunday with around 70 visitors and excellent organisation by the Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido helpers.
