On Shrove Tuesday, February 17, 2026, a special cultural spectacle took place in Mutterstadt: The Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido clubs participated in the carnival parade for the first time, bringing Far Eastern flair to the Palatinate region. As group number 8, the Samurai team set off from Blockfeldstraße promptly at 2:11 PM joined by friends, and supporters. Their goal was to share the diversity and fascination of Japanese martial arts with a wider audience while seamlessly weaving Samurai tradition into the modern festivities.
Highlights:
- The group appeared in their training gear and even brought along a suit of Japanese armour.
- Members from various locations, including Limburgerhof, Waldsee, Neuhofen, and Mutterstadt, came together to celebrate. Despite its traditional background, the focus was on fun, true to the motto “Ahoy, Helau, and Alaaf!” We handed out vouchers and candy.
- The parade, organised by the municipality of Mutterstadt, provided the club with the ideal platform to promote its training programs and philosophy.
- Anyone wanting to see the samurai in action after the parade can find all the information about training times and introductory courses directly on our website.
