On 8 November 2025, a delegation from Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido joined budoka from many other clubs in Rhens for the Rhineland-Palatinate Jiu-Jitsu Association’s state technical training course. The event was organised by TuS 1891 Rhens e. V., with Ben Barkow (1st dan jiu-jitsu, 4th dan judo) and Sascha Bujan (3rd dan Hwal Moo Do Hapkido). Senpai Martin Paetz and assistant trainer Ayaka Nguyen were able to gather many impressions, exchange ideas with others, and learn and try out techniques from new perspectives. Courses like this offer a great opportunity for networking between clubs and serve as further training in the field of martial arts. Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido is a style that belongs to the Koryū-Bujutsu (‘classical martial arts’, the martial arts of the samurai) and includes techniques from many of the martial arts practised today, including jiu-jitsu and judo. Exchanging ideas with other styles and cross-sparring helps trainees to progress and develop their personal style.
