A special evening for Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido was the evening on Whit Monday, when Chrishan Renil Fernando from Muay Thai Kickboxing Sri Lanka visited Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido at the hotel with his family. After consultation with the hotel management, Christian Wiederanders was allowed to hold a reception ceremony in an adjoining room, as rain was not permitted outside. Here Chrishan Renil Fernando received the honorary dan and was appointed sensei (teacher) as head of Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido Sri Lanka. His two sons, both active martial arts instructors of different styles, were also honored at the induction ceremony. Renil Fernando’s son Shenal Randima Fernando was awarded the first kyu (brown) after passing a longer grading test, while his younger brother Kaushalya Nirmana Fernando was awarded the 2nd kyu (brown). Both were also appointed senpai (instructor). All three were very honored and proud of their Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido clothing Haori, Hakama and belt. 6 months of intensive training are now appreciated. Renil Fernando Mrs. Shriyani Nilangika Fernando was presented with a Japanese kimono. After dinner together, the event concluded in the hotel bar with lively discussions. As Renil’s family also included a participant from Supertalent Sri Lanka 2022, Oshani Sandeepa performed a short song in consultation with the hotel band at the end. A wonderful evening thus came to a worthy conclusion. Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido is already looking forward to working together with the new base in Sri Lanka and to the samurai camp next weekend!
