What an event in May 2024! Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido will be travelling to Sri Lanka for the Samurai Camp, which will take place from 24 May to 26 May near Colombo. Of course, there will be no lack of beach training. The arrival and departure as well as the duration of the trip will be organised by the participants themselves. This is not a group trip or budo camp, but everyone organises their own arrival and departure, as well as the duration of the trip. The samurai camp has a long history
Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido has organised over 25 samurai camps since 1989. For many years, sometimes even annually, it was a special highlight of Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido for both members and non-members and interested parties. It took place both as an event abroad and in the form of a training camp in tents. At the tent camp, all participants work together to set up the samurai village, which will be their home for several days. In addition to intensive martial arts training in the great outdoors, such as on meadows and in the forest, there will also be team role-playing games that will accompany the participants throughout the camp. There is also a varied adventure programme that inspires all participants year after year: whether archery, raft building or night hikes with orientation by the stars, everyone gets their money’s worth at the Samurai Camp. But a samurai camp can also be organised as an adventure in distant countries as part of a family or martial arts trip. This was first organised in Kenya in 1990 and in Sri Lanka in 2024. For many years, the samurai camp was also called a bushido camp! And no, it is not a copy of a Budo camp simply because it was first held in 1989!
