Senpai Martin Paetz
🇩🇪 Im September 2019 begann Martin mit Kampfkunsterfahrung seinen Weg im Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido.
Martin begann seinen Weg auf dem Pfad der Kampfkünste 2015 als Student mit dem Training von Kendo. Zusätzlich begann er Iaido und Battodo zu praktizieren und widmete sich damit zunächst vollkommen dem Training der Schwertkampfkunst. Im Winter 2017/2018 bot sich die Gelegenheit, während seines Aufenthaltes für ein industrielles Forschungsprojekt, in Japan in persönlicher Betreuung Kendo zu trainieren. Martin praktizierte Kendo zunächst bis 2019 und erreichte den 2. Kyu.
Der Einstieg in Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido kam 2019. Mit der Zeit brachte sich Martin immer mehr ein und wurde 2024 in den Vorstand Limburgerhof gewählt. Seitdem arbeitete er daran mehr Trainingsmöglichkeiten zu schaffen und die Kampfkunst Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido in der Region voranzubringen. 2025 wurde er zum Senpai ernannt. Er ist im Vorstand mehrerer TRB-Vereine, aktiv im Verband und auch ehrenamtlich als Trainer im Einsatz. Mit seiner Vorbereitung auf die Prüfung zum 2. Kyu (Element Wind) begann er sich in weiteren Kampfkünsten weiterzubilden.
Seit 2025 besucht Martin regelmäßig Lehrgänge des rheinland-pfälzischen Jiu-Jitsu Verbandes (der deutschen Jiu-Jitsu Union untergeordnet), Ende 2025 begann er zusätzlich Aikido im Stil „Takemusu Aiki Inyo Ryu“ zu trainieren und seit Anfang 2026 trainiert er wieder aktiv Kendo.

🇬🇧 Martin began his martial arts journey in 2015 as a university student, training in Kendo. He also started practicing Iaido and Battodo, initially dedicating himself entirely to swordsmanship. In the winter of 2017/2018, he had the opportunity to train in Kendo under personal instruction while working on an industrial research project in Japan. Martin initially practiced Kendo until 2019, achieving the rank of 2nd Kyu.
He began practicing Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido in 2019. Over time, Martin became increasingly involved and was elected to the Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido Limburgerhof board in 2024. Since then, he has worked to create more training opportunities and promote the martial art of Tatsu-Ryu-Bushido in the region. In 2025, he was appointed Senpai. He serves on the board of several TRB clubs, is active in the TRB association, and also volunteers as a trainer. While preparing for his 2nd Kyu (wind lement) exam, he began training in other martial arts.
Since 2025, Martin has regularly attended training courses offered by the Rhineland-Palatinate Jiu-Jitsu Association (subordinate to the German Jiu-Jitsu Union). At the end of 2025, he also began training in Aikido in the “Takemusu Aiki Inyo Ryu” style, and since the beginning of 2026, he has been actively training Kendo again.
